The Dormer E5501/8 is a precision straight flute hand tap designed for producing Rc 1/8" British Standard Pipe Taper (BSPT) internal threads with 28 TPI. Featuring chamfer form C with a 2–3xP plug lead, it is suitable for both through hole and blind hole threading applications up to 1.5xD depth.

Manufactured from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this tap delivers reliable cutting performance in free machining steels, copper, and copper alloys. Produced to ISO 2284 standards, it provides accurate thread generation with a normal fit class for pipe thread applications.
